Baba Keenaram Ashram
About Baba Keenaram Ashram
Located in the Bhelupur area of Varanasi, Baba Keenaram Ashram represents one of the most ancient sacred sites in the region, believed to exist since the creation of the universe. During the 16th century, Aghoracharya Maharajshree Baba Keenaram revitalized this place, establishing it as a landmark for both spiritual and social advancement. According to tradition, Baba Keenaram was regarded as an incarnation of Lord Shiva himself. He took Samadhi on September 21st, 1771 or 1772, and initiated the Abbot throne tradition at Kring-Kund, becoming the first Peethadheshwar. The ashram is centered around the samadhi shrine and the sacred Krim Kund pond. In 1978, the 11th Peethadheshwar, Aghoracharya Maharajshree Baba Siddharth Gautam Ram Ji, established ABKASESS to advance education, social welfare, Ayurvedic medicine manufacturing, and community awareness programs.
