Balaji Mandir, Pune
About Balaji Mandir, Pune
Sri Balaji Mandir serves as an important spiritual center for the Sri Vaishnava community in western India. Located in Pashan, a suburb of Pune, the temple is a close architectural replica of the renowned Tirupati Balaji Temple, earning it the alternate names Prati Balaji Mandir and Mini Balaji Mandir. Constructed between 1996 and 2003 under the guidance of Tirumala Tirupati Temple Devasthanam, the temple features stone carvings similar to the original, with black stone and materials sourced from Kanchipuram. The wooden idol of Lord Balaji is painted with grey oil paint. All pujas and sevas are performed by priests trained from the Tirupati temple, and devotees receive laddoo prasad as at the original shrine. The temple is situated amidst lush green landscape approximately 45 kilometers from Pune city center.
