Prabhadevi Temple
About Prabhadevi Temple
Prabhadevi Temple, also known as Prabhavati Devi Temple, stands in the Prabhadevi area near Dadar in Mumbai as a significant Hindu shrine. The temple's primary deity is Prabhavati Devi, whose idol dates to the 12th century, making it one of the temple's most ancient and revered elements. While the idol itself carries centuries of spiritual significance, the temple structure was built in 1715, establishing it as a three-hundred-year-old architectural landmark. The temple is managed by a trust established by the Kirtikar family, who are descendants of Shyam Nayak. Current trustees overseeing the temple's operations include Alark Desai and Anurag Talpade. The priesthood underwent a transition in 2025, with Suyog Sunil Joglekar appointed as priest effective May 1, 2025, following the passing of the previous manager.
