About Pracheen Hanumaan Mandir (Hindu Temple)
Pracheen Hanuman Mandir is a historic Hindu temple located in the Sigra Chauraha area of Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. The temple was constructed around 1918 by four sons of Baba Mangal Sen Ji—Duni Chand, Muni Chand, Sohan Lal, and Bal Mukand—all of the Bindal family. On November 29, 1973, the temple was formally established as a trust with seven trustees appointed to oversee its management and preservation. The temple has been maintained with dedication by successive generations of the founding families, who have preserved it as a valuable heritage. The temple celebrates major Hindu festivals including Ram Navami, Hanuman Jayanti, Navratri with continuous oil lamps, Janmashtami, Govardhan Annakut, and Sharad Purnima. Regular rituals include havan ceremonies, which are considered sacred purification practices in Hindu tradition. The temple attracts devotees seeking spiritual solace and participates actively in the religious life of Varanasi.
