Ram Janmabhoomi
About Ram Janmabhoomi
Public darshan operates throughout the day across seven designated slots: 7:00–9:00 AM, 9:00–11:00 AM, 11:00 AM–12:00 PM, 1:00–3:00 PM, 3:00–5:00 PM, 5:00–7:00 PM, and 7:00–9:00 PM. No pre-booking is required for general darshan; visitors arrive and join the queue directly. The last entry at the T-1 gate is 9:00 PM, with darshan concluding by 9:15 PM. For a less crowded experience, early morning slots on weekdays outside school holidays are preferable. Tuesdays and Saturdays typically see larger crowds, as do major festivals such as Ram Navami, Hanuman Jayanti, and Diwali—periods best avoided if a quieter visit is desired.
What to Bring and What to Leave Behind
Visitors must carry a government-issued photo ID for entry verification. Those attending aartis should bring a printed or digital copy of their pass along with identification. Mobile phones are prohibited within the temple complex and must be left in the free cloakrooms located outside the parkota (boundary wall). Other items restricted from entry should similarly be deposited in these facilities. Modest dress is expected, as is customary at Hindu temples; visitors should dress respectfully and be prepared to remove footwear before entering the inner sanctum.
Voluntary Service and Contributions
The Trust invites devotees to participate in voluntary Seva (service) activities within the temple complex. Those wishing to contribute financially to the maintenance and operations of the shrine may do so through the Trust's official channels. The Trust is registered under the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (2010), permitting donations from overseas devotees. Donors can obtain instant receipts for contributions made through direct bank deposit by providing required details on the Trust portal.
Planning Your Visit
The temple is located at coordinates 26.7956, 82.1947 in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh. Before travelling, confirm current timings with the official Trust portal, as schedules adjust for festivals, seasonal changes, and special events. The Trust maintains an official website at srjbtkshetra.org, where visitors can reserve free passes for aartis and darshan, access accommodation information for Ayodhya, and find details on how to reach the temple. Those planning to visit during peak seasons should arrive early to secure a place in the darshan queue, particularly during the morning slots when crowds tend to be manageable.
