Sankat Mochan Hanuman
About Sankat Mochan Hanuman
Located on the tranquil banks of the Assi River in Varanasi, Sankat Mochan Hanuman Temple was founded in the early 16th century by the poet-saint Tulsidas, who dedicated it to Lord Hanuman, known as the 'reliever of troubles' and 'liberator from difficulties.' The temple stands as a symbol of faith and devotion, ranking among Varanasi's three most revered shrines alongside Kashi Vishwanath and Annapurna Devi. It serves as both a spiritual sanctuary and cultural hub, preserving Hindu traditions through regular worship, meditation, and community service. The temple offers solace to devotees from across India who come seeking divine intervention during times of personal crisis, including job loss, illness, family conflict, and astrological difficulties. Under the leadership of Mahant Prof. Vishwambhar Nath Mishra, the temple continues to foster spiritual growth while celebrating the rich heritage of Hinduism through multiple festivals and educational events throughout the year.
