Venkateswara Temple, Dwaraka Tirumala
About Venkateswara Temple, Dwaraka Tirumala
Located in Eluru district, Andhra Pradesh, this Hindu temple is dedicated to Lord Venkateswara, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. The temple's origin is associated with Sage Dwaraka, who discovered the self-manifested idol after intense penance. Major structural developments including the vimana, mandapa, gopura, and prakara were constructed under Dharma Appa Rao's patronage between 1762 and 1827. The temple's grandeur was further enhanced by donations from Rani Chinnamma Rao of Mylavaram (1877–1902), who contributed gold ornaments and silver vahanas. The shrine is uniquely distinguished by housing two idols of Lord Venkateswara, enabling both self-worship and complete ritualistic worship. The temple is administered by Sri Venkateswara Swami Vari Devasthanam and welcomes approximately 40,000 pilgrims on auspicious days.
